For our first issue of Orbital, we offered our community a space to reflect on all of our firsts. We know not every first deserves celebrating — first is not always best. But we believe that firsts should be remembered, honored... and anticipated. Firsts often take us by surprise, like what many of us experienced after stumbling upon a website for gaining and encouraging.

We invited fat folks, fattening folks, and fatteners to think about the firsts of greatest significance to them. Whether that first is a website, an idol, a lover, a button, or a confession, each one has the potential to inspire. By sharing our firsts, we hope to draw attention to the many dimensions of the G&E experience. Maybe you’ll recognize yourself. Maybe you’ll see yourself in a new light.
